Bromsgrove BSF

Overview

Our commission included designs for five new schools within the Bromsgrove District of Worcestershire. The landscape design approach was unique for each school as they served differing age ranges and communities. We applied the design concept of the ‘outdoor classroom’ working closely with teachers to create external spaces that were an extension of the built classroom.

Each school had differing interests and specialisms. Sidemoor School is an exemplar project for ‘forest schools’. Working closely with the staff we created woodland glades and ponds where outdoor teaching and learning can take place. North Bromsgrove High School has a performing arts specialism so an external performance space was the focal point of the design. Each school is designed to encourage and develop play, learning and sport in a stimulating environment.
