Fira supplied an expert witness at the public inquiry to support the development of an urban extension close to the A14 in Northamptonshire. The successful appeal decision granted our client planning permission for 304 dwellings with associated green infrastructure and public spaces on land to the south of Desborough.
Fira Landscape Limited prepared an LVIA and Green Infrastructure Strategy for the project, based on a masterplan developed by AFL Architects (www.afl-uk.com) in conjunction with Brooke-Smith Planning, which is now part of Arcadis (www.brookesmithplanning.com). Fira then supported the client team in the lead up to and during the Inquiry, which was contested on landscape matters.
The outline scheme focused on the sympathetic setting of the built development along this valley corridor and provides extensive areas for exercise, play and ecology. Planting and materials will be selected to be in keeping with the local landscape setting.
