Fira were appointed to design the landscape for a new 20 bedroom personality disorder unit. The East London PDU applies cutting edge principles to the design of mental health facilities to create effective and an environmentally sensitive building and landscape setting with a series of safe and nurturing spaces arranged around the building.
These spaces have been designed to be used for quiet reflection, activity/sports area and therapy. The use of curving paths with different scales of space provides users with choice and interest on a confined site. The design responds to staff's requirements and enhances the setting of the building.
