Royal Liverpool University Hospital, Townscape and Visual Impact Assessment

Overview

In support of a planning application for the new £400 million Royal Liverpool University Hospital we undertook a comprehensive townscape and visual impact assessment.

The townscape assessment mapped the different character areas surrounding the hospital site and identified opportunities to enhance pedestrian movement and positive visual connections between the areas.  We also considered kinetic views approaching the site as part of the arrival sequence into the city. The assessment was undertaken in the context of the unique UNESCO World Heritage status of the city's waterfront and key strategic views across the River Mersey.
