Royal Liverpool University Hospital

Overview

As part of the Carillion team, we were required to deliver landscape proposals for the Royal Liverpool University Hospital and Liverpool Health Campus that would act as a catalyst in regenerating this part of Liverpool's city centre. This was achieved by undertaking a comprehensive urban design exercise resulting in the provision of a significant new area of public realm in Liverpool’s city centre, as both the setting to the new hospital and the focal point for the future development of a bioscience quarter.

The masterplan incorporates the Liverpool Health Campus into the surrounding cityscape and redefines the city block pattern by creating a key gateway into the city centre. The quality of the design highlights the role of the hospital and Liverpool Health Campus as a medical development of international importance.
