Three Shires PFI included three new hospitals in Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire. The New Johnson Community Hospital for Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust is located in sensitive green belt between Spalding and Pinchbeck in Lincolnshire. Our design frames views of the open countryside to enhance the wards, while artwork, shelters and ornamental planting encourage patients and staff to explore the grounds.
Kingsway Hospital in Derby and The Agnes Unit in Leicester provide inpatient and day care mental health facilities for adults with learning disabilities and older adults suffering from various forms of dementia. We designed the courtyards for both units to provide a series of therapy areas ranging from gardens for the elderly and calming spaces to exercise courts and horticultural therapy gardens.
