Designed as a collection of nine pavilions, the buildings are linked by a series of high quality landscape spaces within a formal quad layout.
This strong arrangement creates a series of generous courtyards and garden spaces that allow both recreational and educational activities to take place across the site.
An avenue lined path provided access to the colleges and specialist teaching spaces, giving the school a collegiate feel, with routes and sequences of spaces making way-finding simple and effective. Accessible from the path, a varied and flexible range of spaces have been provided and include extensive sports provision, college gardens, play space, a SEN courtyard and a key central court for socialising and events.
Sustainable management of water on the site was achieved through the use of rills and an attenuation pond that also provides habitat to improve biodiversity on the site.
