The Glade has been created to provoke reflection and contemplation through symbolic forms, features and planting.
As part of our longstanding relationship with the National Memorial Arboretum, Fira was commissioned to design this unique memorial in a glade within the Arboretum. It provides a space for quiet contemplation of service and its sacrifices, and an ideal spot for those wanting to reflect on what remembrance means to them.
Denoting strength, the curved oak gateways provide an entrance into an inner sanctum. The Glade is formed by a perfect circle of white stemmed Himalayan birch, creating a sense of harmony and unity, and a central mirror introduces light and symbolises truth.
