Who we are
Fira is a nationally recognised team of designers with the focus of connecting people with their environment. Over the past four decades our approach to design, promoting access to nature and crafting spaces that improve people’s health, has strengthened our position as one of the country’s leading landscape design practices.
Based in Birmingham, the city of a thousand trades, we also have an office in London, and work throughout the UK and overseas on a wide range of projects. Our practice is built around our team of talented and dedicated landscape architects who have a real passion for creating inspirational environments.
From our humble beginnings in the 1970s, our pursuit of excellence has been recognised in over 60 design awards, and more importantly, led thousands of projects that have had a positive impact on both people’s lives and the environment. Throughout this long period, we have worked on numerous landmark schemes and established many strong relationships with friends and collaborators across the industry.
Our Ethos
We believe that the environment in which we live, work and play has a significant impact on our health, our behaviour, and our state of mind. We strive to create beautiful places that enhance people’s health and wellbeing, and as a leading exponent of the importance of health and wellbeing, this has become an integral part of all our designs. This approach can only truly be delivered by working in harmony with nature, supporting the green infrastructure and ecological networks that sustain our world.
Our emphasis on sustainability means we focus on creating designs that last. A collaborative approach, involving the client team, the design team and the users of the space, enables us to create practical, affordable and attractive designs that will stand the test of time.
